A bird control netting system's shape is governed by the use of a steel wire rope perimeter framework. On larger bird exclusion netting systems or systems with complex shapes, the wire rope may also be used as an intermediate cross wire to give added support, a join line between two adjacent nets or a fold-line.
The wire rope is fed through the intermediate fixings and is tethered to the corner fixings which are used to take the tension loads applied.
Bird netting system perimeters consist of three parts: the wire rope, tensioners to pull the wire rope taught and prevent it from bowing away from the structure under load and retention products that clamp the wire rope back on itself to allow tension loads to be applied.
2mm wire rope is used mainly on free spans of 10m or less and on larger mesh nets such as 75mm and 50mm. 3mm wire rope is used on large free-span installations of 10m+ and on smaller mesh sizes such as 28mm and 19mm to cope with the additional loads.
M5 and M6 barrel strainers can be used with 2mm wire rope. M6 and M8 barrel strainers are used with 3mm wire rope.
We use high quality 7x7 strand, malleable wire rope which enables the rope to be fed through tight corners without forming kinks.
